Audio Device

The Audio Device page defines the audio source to listen to. Once enabled, the audio source is made available for sonic alarm detection, as well as for real-time and alarm event recordings. If desired, audio error notifications and AV alerts are also available if any interruptions are experienced.

Audio device selection.

All detected audio devices are listed in the audio source dropdown list. Be aware that this list is refreshed every time it is opened. WAV101 also supports IP microphones. However, they must be manually defined using the Audio Stream dialog. Once defined, they will also be integrated into the audio source dropdown list. Use the Add, Edit and Remove links accordingly.

Audio device alarm level settings.

Alarms Levels define the target range in which a sonic alarm condition is asserted. However, the opposite is true with inverse range logic. In this case, an alarm condition is only asserted when the sound level falls outside those boundaries. In either case, the persistence setting defines the minimum number of consecutive frames for which the alarm condition must be sustained before an alarm is formally triggered. Keep in mind that the frame's time span will vary as a function of the device's sample rate.

Alarm level scatter plot properties.

Note that sonic alarm levels are processed as absolute levels. They may be viewed through the WAV101 window's Sonic Levels viewer. Use the sidebar menu to toggle its visibility. Regardless of the viewer's source, all Scatter Plots may be configured simultaneously through the Properties page.

Motion and sonic alarm level viewers.

Especially note that sonic alarms are a secondary service provided by the motion detector. More to the point, the motion detector must be enabled for the motion, sonic, vision and / or panic alarms to be processed.

Network Explorer

Network Explorer is a tool that probes the LAN; local area network, to discover all available ONVIF; video and audio, transmitters. Any transmitter may then be further queried to get a listing its stream locations and capabilities. Keep in mind that Network Explorer contextually works with the settings defined by either the Video or Audio Stream dialog.
